About Joshua Davidson

Lead sound designer at Gearbox Software with 18 years of game development experience. My specialties lie in the Unreal editor, Wwise audio pipeline implementation solutions, sound asset creation in a variety of DAWs including ProTools, Nuendo, Sound Forge, Ableton Live, Reason and many 3rd party plugins and hardware synthesizers.I have a passion for creating & implementing high quality sounds via custom recordings and synthesis in addition to collaborating with teams of designers, animators, programmers and artists to bring the vision of our project to life. I also have learned that I love mentoring and helping others artistically grow and develop throughout their career in any way that I can.My preference is to work in house with these teams to fully grasp the project’s goals and to develop the necessary relationships needed to effectively deliver the best possible end result. My journey in sound design began with a love for electronic music composition and recording arts then shifted into all realms audio, with a desire to learn new tools, innovate and explore uncharted areas of 21st century audio art forms. I feel like interactive audio is a new and uncharted territory with much more room to develop.
