About Josue Rivera

I mostly grew up in Sonoma County, California. I went to school in San Diego (UC San Diego) and I'm looking forward to completing my MBA at UCLA in June 2024 with a Finance Specialization. Whether it's learning a new skill (like adding an outlet inside my house) or training Muay Thai, I'm passionate about challenging myself and pursuing consistent growth. Regardless of life's ebbs and flows, my core values guide me in the workplace and in my personal life. I'm passionate about pursuing growth, serving others, and driving results. In short, here is why these values are important to me: Pursuing Growth: For me, the consistent pursuit of growth doesn't mean that I'm achieving something new every day or that I'm always looking for my efforts to be rewarded. It's the belief that there is always room for improvement, new experiences to embrace, and skills to acquire. Whether it's setting new fitness goals or learning new technical skills for work, I'm constantly searching for new challenges. Serving Others: I believe that our impact is maximized when we consider our potential to affect the lives of others. This can come in the form of taking greater ownership in my work areas to minimize my manager's burden, lending a helping hand to my neighbors after snowfall, or being intentional about creating an environment where all my peers feel respected and seen. Driving Results: Results ultimately tie together my pursuit of growth and passion for serving others. I use the results, whether professional or personal, to reflect on the effectiveness and impact of my actions. I consistently reflect how new skills contribute to delivering greater value to customers (internal or external) or how successful I am in my intended impact. For example, does a certain new skill add value to my organization or am I effective in making my peers feel like they can bring their true selves to work?
