About Joy Lagain

As a passionate veterinary nurse trained in ECC, I bring a unique blend of skills, experiences, and cultural influences to my work. My journey to this rewarding profession has been shaped by a rich and diverse background. Raised in France and educated in the French school system, I later earned a Bachelor's degree in Film and Literary Studies before embarking on an international path. Living and working in Iceland, I pursued my veterinary nursing program remotely during COVID, combining resilience, adaptability, and determination to achieve my goals. My hands-on training at a cat shelter in Iceland deepened my understanding of feline behavior and inspired my specialization as a cat behaviorist, which I confirmed through a certification with the Royal School of Veterinary Studies of Edinburgh. Prior to my veterinary career, I gained valuable skills working as a pet sitter, au pair, waitress, and even a film editor, where I developed empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in challenging, fast-paced environments. These varied roles shaped my ability to connect with people and animals alike, while fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. Today, I am committed to providing exceptional care to animals and their families during critical moments. My international experiences and diverse skill set enable me to remain calm under pressure, approach each case with a compassionate mindset, and continue learning to advance in the field of veterinary medicine.
