About Joy Portinga

linkedin isn't real and we are all living in a simulation Hi, I'm Joy! I'm a recent graduate who studied communication and business at UC San Diego. I’m passionate about connecting, sharing people’s stories, and building community. To translate these passions into professional skills, I have solid experience in media production, marketing, public speaking, communications, and business. As a campus ambassador I connected prospective students with resources for higher education. I worked in Undergraduate Admissions and helped give tours to prospective students and families, and with a team shared information about the admissions process and student life to over annual visitors to promote application and retention rates. Additionally, I currently work as a freelance portrait photographer, sharing people’s stories and capturing their best moments and memories. I also intern as the worship leader of UC San Diego’s chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and build community through planning social events, leading worship and planning biweekly general body meetings.
