About Joy Prokash

I am a development professional specializing in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) with hands-on experience in community-based resilience programming, research, and data-driven decision-making. Currently serving as Officer–DRR at Food for the Hungry Association (FH), I lead gender-responsive DRR initiatives, strengthen local disaster management capacities, and integrate climate adaptation strategies into community resilience plans. My work has impacted 500+ community members, including women and marginalized groups, through early warning systems training, hazard mapping, and inclusive risk reduction strategies. With a strong background in M&E frameworks, data analysis (SPSS, GIS, Remote Sensing), and participatory monitoring tools, I have contributed to donor reporting, baseline/endline studies, and impact assessments for DRR and climate-resilient programs. My research experience spans vulnerability assessments, climate variability studies, and the use of machine learning and geospatial tools for evidence-based policy recommendations. I am passionate about capacity building, gender equality, and data-driven program improvement to ensure accountability and sustainability in humanitarian and development interventions.
