About Joyice R.

Far too many Black women lack the knowledge, skills, confidence, and strategy to meet and connect with men and choose the righteous ones. These woes alone are not responsible for the gender wars and marriage decline found in the Black community. Although we face systemic issues and hard realities that make dating, relationships, marriage, and family unique, a solution isn’t beyond us. I serve to provide options that impact how we relate to and choose each other. My research focuses on healing gender relations between Black women and men. My work shows evidence that this healing often produces safer, happier, smarter, and more stable dating decisions that improve the quality of relationships. With this evidence in hand, my mission is to improve the quality of gender relationships in the Black community through relationship education. As an educator, a doctoral student, and a social scientist, when I identify high levels of discord, dissatisfaction, and disinterest, it signals an education gap. I fill this gap by leaning on my academic training, universal truths, and ancestral wisdom to support Black women and couples. The Match Marry Mate™ Show podcast is one of the tools I harness to equip Black women and couples with valuable education from my signature course, coaching program, and relationship expertise. I have the joy of witnessing life-changing transformations and healings in how they view men overall; specifically Black men, and how they respond to them.My coaching and research work has resulted in six marriages and five current-day exclusive relationships, and a plethora of clients who are learning and practicing new relationship readiness skills or actively dating with satisfaction.I’m excited about my upcoming projects, including relationship education programs, workshops, and courses in colleges and universities, consulting with corporate and entertainment industries, and speaking worldwide about how relationship education can heal the Black American family.
