About Jp Oosthuizen

As a passionate Physical Education teacher with over 8 years of international experience across South Africa, Thailand, and China, I’ve had the privilege of working within diverse educational frameworks, including the South African curriculum, SHAPE America standards, and the British system. This global exposure has enriched my perspective and deepened my ability to connect with students from varied cultural and academic backgrounds. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Movement Science and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), which provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation for delivering impactful physical education. My background as a former professional athlete further fuels my lifelong dedication to health, fitness, and personal excellence. My teaching philosophy is rooted in holistic development. While physical fitness is central, I am committed to nurturing the complete individual—physically, intellectually, socially, mentally, and spiritually. My goal is not only to develop athletic skills but to empower students with the values and mindset needed to thrive beyond the classroom. At the core of my approach is relationship-building. I believe in leading by example, fostering an environment of trust, teamwork, and resilience. I strive to be a positive role model and mentor, helping students unlock their potential and grow into confident, well-rounded individuals ready to make a meaningful impact in the world.
