About Juliette Cook

Working closely with contemporary artists throughout her career, Juliette advocates for their creative practices from various roles within museums, art centers, and foundations. She has written press and public statements for William Kentridge, Takashi Murakami, and many other internationally recognized artists while at MoMA P.S.1. She has developed project proposals for Hank Willis Thomas and Zanele Muholi while at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center. Earlier in her career, at the Philadelphia Art Alliance and Blohard Gallery she organized exhibitions of work by dozens of outstanding artists, many of whom have achieved great acclaim, including Mierle Leiderman Ukeles, Virgil Marti, Patrick Killoran, and many others.She has excelled in organizational advancement in New York and Philadelphia. At PPAC (now TILT) her fundraising skills and strategic vision took the organization from an operating budget of to over in just four years, nearly quadrupling the budget and transforming TILT into a nationally-recognized photography center.In 2004, Juliette founded the North American marketing and distribution subsidiary for German luxury eyewear brand, ic! berlin. Within two years, the company was netting over $2 million annually, shipping across all of North America and had a warehouse and a staff of 10 trained professional sales people.Juliette is Chair of the Penn Treaty SSD, a foundation serving the civic and cultural needs of the Philadelphia river wards neighborhoods, and Executive Director, D&O, of The Center for Emerging Visual Artist, a non-profit arts organization serving artists and audiences in Philadelphia.
