About Junyi Gu

Experienced Researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. PhD student at Autonomous Vehicles Lab, Tallinn University of Technology. My Ph.D. topic focuses on advanced sensor perception and fusion for autonomous driving. My research explores the usage and configuration of the cutting-edge sensors for autonomous vehicles, and how to use the different technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, and sensor fusion to process the sensory data to improve the perceptive capability and safety of the autonomous vehicles. Our experimental platform iseAuto shuttle is the first autonomous vehicle in Estonia. I had practical experience with visual-based SLAM and sensor fusion development for Unmanned Ground Vehicles. I am familiar with most of the modern sensors that were used in autonomous vehicles and robots. I am skilled and interested in ROS, robot navigation and motion planning, and artificial intelligence in the case of object instance segmentation.
