Background
About Kalene Thomas
I am thrilled to be teaching at North Carolina State University, where I received my Bachelors and Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering. I am passionate about Engineering Education, and ready to embark on a PhD program researching it! Meanwhile, I am attentive to my advisees and connect them to many wonderful opportunities on and off campus. I have worked in many industries including manufacturing, television, theme parks, and defense. My past work experience pushed me into my goal of engineering management. After interning in the Industrial Engineering Department of Walt Disney World, I have a strong commitment to data analysis and fair presentation of suggestions. I have also had experience in logistics and supply chain in a manufacturing environment, where I learned to problem solve in a quickly changing environment. I enjoy tacking technical problems and learning tools to help solve challenges. I received a Six Sigma Green Belt and learned to involve Lean at every step of the way. I intend to remain active with engineering outreach, volunteering, and leadership development for our students at NC State.
