I was selected to serve as the first Chief Equity Officer for Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office & Senior Advisor to the Mayor. As CEO, I developed new job descriptions to hire and manage a team of six professionals responsible for developing the citywide equity plan (focused on human rights, racial equity in policing, language access, accessibility, and recognizing and eliminating bias). Under my leadership and in one year, we created the citywide equity plan, developed and implemented the language access plan and policy, secured for language access initiatives, secured grant funding in support of refugee resettlement efforts, managed the Racial Equity in Policing Commission, managed the Human Rights Commission, codified the Convention to Eliminate Discrimination Against Women, and transitioned the Accessibility Disability Advisory Committee to an official Board. Served as Project Manager to organize a new 21 member City Board at the beginning of COVID and held weekly public meetings for one year on a virtual platform to create and implement the city's first Racial Equity In Policing review, audit, and plan. Liaison between city board and consultants. Coordinator of the Mayor's Arts, Culture, and Events (ACE) application process and fund. My previous roles include executive administrative assistant, federal background investigator, legislative liaison, research assistant, and contracts agent. I thrive in fast paced environments with limited supervision and can easily adjust to unforeseen changes in the workplace. I am a visionary, passionate about using my experience, skills, and talents to fulfill my purpose while also helping organizations build efficient and sustainable processes where they do not currently exist. I have received accolades for providing remarkable customer service, efficiently managing my team with limited resources (especially in crisis), and operating with integrity and attention to detail.
