About Karan Leeming

As an External Communications Manager, I specialise in crafting impactful, creative communications that connects the local authority with the communities we serve. As the communications business partner to the Cabinet Member for Climate and Environment, I help shape narratives that support sustainability, parks investment, and pride in the community. With a BA (Hons) in Public Relations and Media, an MSc in International Events and Conference Management, and currently undertaking a Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship (CMI-accredited), I bring both academic insight and practical leadership to my work. My experience spans a wide range of council services. Including Children and Young People, Adult Social Care, Communities and Poverty which gives me a broad understanding of the challenges and opportunities within local government. I’m passionate about delivering high-quality, creative communications that reflect the priorities of the council and resonates with residents. I thrive on building strong stakeholder relationships and using storytelling to drive positive change. Personally, causes such as violence against women and girls, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare are close to my heart. I’m not currently seeking new opportunities, but I’m always open to connecting with like-minded professionals who share a passion for public service and meaningful communication.
