I have felt a strong love for the natural world since I was a child, growing up in the Midwest. Having lived in various parts of the country, I was struck by the outstanding beauty of Pacific Northwest when I moved here over 15 years ago. The training I received from the WSU Master Gardener Program enabled me to interact with local residents,sharing horticultural information. That led to my position as team leader for the Gig Harbor Master Gardener Demonstration Garden. It was a very rewarding job, building and running the garden for over 10 years. My current position with EnviroCorps, which is a program operating under The Greater Gig Harbor Foundation is a natural progression. The mission of EnviroCorps is to connect community sponsors and volunteers to help maintain parks, trails, and roadways, working to promote environmental awareness and stewardship. I am honored to be a part of this organization.
