About Karen Monteith

My job role CXCS has changed immensely over my 12 years of working with them. Im currently balancing being a mum of a little girl and boy and keeping my career. I started as an administrator, from there I have progressed to managing all Agricultural Compliance appointments and updates as well as the event, going out and seeing clients and being the PA to the Managing Director. Alongside being in the Management team and being a team leader This involves me having to ensure that I manage my time effectively to juggle all the different roles. I have a huge fondness for the sales part of my job and following it through from meeting the future clients at shows and events to converting them to clients after the initial meeting and seeing them grow as a client as the relationship with them grows as well. Before working for CXCS, I worked as a waitress at Dinham Hall hotel in Ludlow. This gives you the opportunity of dealing with different people whether it was from the guests to the chef. Before this I worked in the local butchers as what was described as the "Saturday Girl". This was my first job and gave me the sense of work ethic and what it was like to have a job. It also gave me an insight as to what it is like to work within a very male dominated environment. These are skills that I still have to use now, especially when my jobs leaves me to work alongside farmers on a daily basis that don't necessarily enjoy the concept of paperwork.
