About Kari Felkamp

As the Director of Marketing and Communications at Elmhurst Park District, I lead a talented team of creative professionals who love showcasing the incredible benefits of parks and recreation to our community. With nearly 20 years in the field and eight in my current role, I bring a passion for connecting people to the spaces and experiences that enrich their lives. I'm a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), which reflects my dedication to staying innovative and delivering top-notch work in this industry. My expertise spans social media and digital strategy, content creation, branding, and event planning. I've had the privilege of crafting marketing campaigns for everything from fitness centers and golf courses to outdoor pools and community-wide events. Along the way, I’ve helped grow the District’s online presence and engagement through savvy use of analytics, SEO, and social media. In the fall of 2024, my team also played a part in the passing of a $90 million referendum for the Elmhurst community. Building strong relationships is another key part of what I do, whether it’s collaborating with community groups, affiliated organizations, or government partners. I also represent the District as a spokesperson and editorial committee co-chair. Above all, I’m driven by the belief that parks and recreation have the power to transform lives—and I’m proud to help make that happen every day.
