About Karin van Werven

After my study International Management, I started as assistant area manager within the French company Pasteur Merieux. In which job I was responsible for the Benelux & Nordic Countries. In 1998 I took a new challenging job as an international metal trader. In the mean time I was also locally involved in politics and in 2002 I was chosen as town councilor for D66 (liberal party) in Huizen. In 2003 my husband had the opportunity to go to Italy for his job. We decided to move to Italy and I took some sabbatical years during which I studied Italian and I was a member of the board of the Como International Club. After our move to Belgium I started working as customer service and operations manager for Crown Relocations, a company specialized in the provision of employee relocation services for multinational companies. By the end of 2010 we came back to The Netherlands and after having taken care of our own relocation I started working for WaterVision, selling underwater LED lamps to Dutch, Belgian, German and French swimming pool managers. I liked the international environment a lot and therefore I took the opportunity to work as international sales manager for Ebretti Electric Scooters. I took care of the European sales of electric scooters, a niche market. I developed the market in Belgium, succeeded in finding good sales agents in both Switzerland and Italy. and found a French representative willing to start as a distributor. Unfortunately, due to the crisis, the Dutch home market failed to grow, which led to a bankruptcy. Fortunately, I rapidly found another challenging job in an international environment. Currently, I am working as Tender Specialist & Customer Care Executive for the Italian, French, UK & Ireland market with Cabot Norit Activated Carbon. I combine this job, being a town councilor for D66 Huizen during the evening hours.
