About Karolya Vargscarr

Hello, my name is Karolya Hutniak Vargscarr, but you can call me "KV". In English I use they/them pronouns and in Ukrainian I use вона/її. I am a queer, white, settler living in Winnipeg, Manitoba on the lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate, and Dene; and of the Red River Métis. I am an inclusive leader with more than 15 years' experience in the nonprofit sector. I build relationships, processes, and programs that contribute to positive social impact across diverse communities of stakeholders. My purpose is to grow and contribute in relationship with others. I am drawn to organizations and connections that work in service delivery, advocacy, human rights, equity, and education. I am passionate about dismantling systemic discrimination in my work and in my life, and strongly believe that a return to Indigenous knowledge, frameworks, and leadership will make life and work better for everyone.
