About Kasongo Chiwele

Kasongo is an economist with over 6 years of work experience in Credit Insurance, Corporate Banking and Compliance. She is a Research Associate at the Florence School of Banking and Finance (FBF) specializing in a vast range of topics in Supervisory Digital Finance within the EU. Prior to Joining FBF, Kasongo worked as an Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) analyst at Stanbic bank Zambia, a member of Standard Bank Group where she ensured that the bank complied with its outside regulatory and legal requirements as well as internal policies and standards. While also playing a key role in analysing, detecting, and reporting of suspicious transactions and Politically Exposed Person screening. Her research interests include Digital Finance, Women Financial Inclusion, and its impact on developing economies. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in International Economics from the University of Milano Bicocca and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Zambia.
