About Katariina Valentin

My super powers are curiosity and creative ideation. Give me a little incentive, some frames and my brain starts cooking ideas whether I want it to or not. Research, co-creation and imagining possibilities fuel my doing! I love facilitating workshops and seeing the magic of co-creation happen. I’m a people person, teamworker and a team leader with empathy at the core of my doing. My career so far has shapen my values and focuses of interest to accessibility, minorities, inclusion and human rights, while aknowledging my position and privileges. I’m skilled in communication mediation, quickly adapting to situations and taking in new information as well as thinking on my feet. I enjoy doing research and believe in well informed decision making above all. I’ve found service design to be a home for so many of my passions and the more I learn the more I want to know (note the curiosity I mentioned before). I believe my unique background in the interpreting field, my creativity, ideation skills and boldness in the face of new will take me far! I also do freelance illustration here and there and hope to one day work on some childrens’ books both as an author and illustrator. You can find my portfolio at
