About Me With nearly 20 years of experience in the AEC industry, I'm a seasoned Senior People & Culture Leader known for enhancing workplace culture, learning, engagement, and employee well-being. As the President and Founder of HR by Design, I partner with people leaders in small to mid-sized AEC firms to develop impactful People and Culture strategies. I'm skilled in both strategic and operational areas, including learning and development, talent management, organizational development, total compensation, and employee wellness, aligning employee experience with business objectives. As a certified TypeCoach MBTI facilitator, I take a behavioural approach to empowering teams to build stronger connections and collaboration. My deep understanding of Canadian employment law allows me to navigate complex HR challenges with informed judgement and care. Beyond my business, I'm an active contributor to the HR field as a Board Director with Sustainable Buildings Canada. I have also served as Secretary and Co-Director at the Engineering Human Resources Association, supporting HR professionals in engineering and fostering industry connections. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with family and friends doing fun stuff across the GTA and up north at our cottage, exploring new places around the world, and caring for our pets—Carter, a very cute happy golden retriever and Douglas a beautiful loving long-haired cat.
