About Kate Ward

My entire career has been focused on education and growing non-profit organizations: from teacher in a one-room schoolhouse to health educator, then Director of Operations at the YMCA, and currently Director of Institutional Advancement at Saint Columbkille Partner School (STCPS). Mission-driven and intentional, I have the combined knowledge of academics, operations, and fundraising to lead educational institutions into the future. Having the intuitive ability to look at something that works and make it even better, I’ve consistently produced dramatic growth in every organization I’ve served. By developing business strategies focused on providing a competitive advantage, building strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and leading multi-disciplinary teams of valuable and committed individuals, I have increased enrollment, growth, and market share in every position. Examples of results: Raise $1.2M per year at STCPS, up from $550K, a 136% increase Increased The BC Race to Educate fundraising 230%, from $60K to $200K Grew membership at the YMCA by 127% and increased net bottom line by $410K in 24 months Increased the Y’s annual campaign by 253% in 36 months Grew school enrollment in Vermont School Board’s Insurance Trust 614%, from 27 to 193 schools I’m inspired by and dedicated to the mission of STCPS to provide values-based education to students, regardless of ability to pay, and to create an atmosphere of cultural diversity in which children intuitively grow in understanding of others and the larger world around them. For a school to be successful, teachers must be excellent and parents must be partners. At Saint Columbkille’s, we have a phenomenal faculty, staff, and Board and truly engaged, caring parents who are invested in the school’s success. Working alongside these valuable partners, my objective at STCPS is to continue to cultivate an atmosphere of excellence and growth into the future.
