About Katherine James

I am a remote sensing specialist currently working in the humanitarian mine clearance sector. I have experience in research, data processing and scientific publishing. I also have a strong history with the use of opensource and commercial GIS and remote sensing programmes, in field data collection, and drone operating. I also have some knowledge of multiple coding languages, and I am working on improving these skills with online coding courses. I am passionate about expanding the use and knowledge of remote sensing within the humanitarian demining sector. My back ground in archaeological feature detection has given me a good grounding in buried feature detection which has proved to be useful in my current role and I hope to expand this knowledge, and pass this onto other drone operators to improve the detection and disarming of land mines globally.
