About Katie Thomas

With over 10 years of experience in M&A, private equity, securities and corporate law, I am a Counsel at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, one of the leading global law firms. I have worked on complex and high-profile transactions and advisory matters across various jurisdictions and sectors, including acquisitions by public companies of public targets and private targets, SPACs, take-private transactions, acquisitions by private equity of public and private targets, joint ventures and minority investments. At Weil, I have also gained extensive experience in securities law advice and filings, and in advising public company boards and leadership teams on both ‘special situations’ (such as shareholder activism, management changes and internal investigations) and also ongoing SEC/stakeholder reporting, compliance and corporate governance matters. Having worked on large-scale M&A transactions for 10+ years, two major components of the skill set that I have developed are project management and stakeholder relationship building. My core competencies are attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. I am passionate about delivering excellent service to our clients and finding innovative, commercial and practical solutions to their challenges.
