About Katrina Castillo

I am am an attorney with a focus in policy and litigation. I have experience in policy areas dealing with employment, the Violence Against Women Act, and Children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. I have worked in both advocacy and regulation writing in these areas. I have represented different agencies that I have worked for in developing policy with both inside and outside partners. I have drafted regulations, legislation and training materials based on this representation that best suited those involved. I have also represented my current employer in court in both emergency removal hearing and trial along with our partners at the Guardian Ad Litem and Legal Aid partners. Further, I have extensive experience working in bar associations. My work with the American Bar Association has focused on engaging law students and growing the social media presence of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD). In this work I have developed webinars and materials relating to student debt and bar preparation tips. I have also developed and overseen the implementation of both the YLD policy for engaging/ retaining law students and communications.
