I was stuck in my professional life and I asked a mentor what I needed to do. Very candidly he stated to me, “You don’t know how to lead people.” That was a shocking moment. I was elected. I served on Boards of Directors handing $19mm in annual revenue. My decisions counted. Yet, I did not know how to lead people? That started my obsession with leadership. I've had great success and great failure. Both have taught me the value of having a coach at my side.
