About Kelley Glover

As a doctoral research assistant, I contribute to a grant-funded project that studies part-time community college students across Texas and co-teach graduate level classes. I apply my skills and knowledge in qualitative research and evaluation, which I have developed as a doctoral researcher at Texas State University for over three years and as a Learning and Impact Research Fellow at the Charles Bitt Foundation. I am also a certified music and principal educator, with a passion for music education and embodied pedagogies. My dissertation explores how Black women music educators and musicians use embodied pedagogies to heal themselves and others from racialized and gendered micro aggressions, and how to apply cultural somatics in education and other settings. I am a published scholar, with articles in journals such as the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, the Journal of School Leadership, and the International Journal of Leadership in Education. I am also the former CEO of U BETTER Sing, a music education company that mentored youth and created culturally relevant cartoons and an interactive music game app. My company's achievements were featured on the PBS series, Blackademics. I aim to use my expertise in cultural diversity and leadership to create positive change and impact in the field of education and beyond.
