Background
About Kenneth Reed
I help my clients achieve their goals of understanding, control and leverage of their materials science and composition of matter challenges. As a physical chemist, my technical expertise in the synthesis and stabilization of nanoparticle colloids and their surface functionalization for a variety of catalytic reactions. In addition, I have a strong background and proven ability to identify the applications spaces for nano composition of matter, and to assemble teams to synthesize, scale, patent and commercialize the identified opportunities. My consultation experience includes: providing one university start-up with a strategy and design of experiments to de-agglomerate nano plasmonic matter and providing to an established business, an analysis and strategy to extend and protect their product's lifetime from aerial oxidation. AREAS OF EXPERTISE: 1. Technology invention, innovation, and development 2. Open Innovation 3. Patent Strategy 4. Research ManagementNOTABLE CONTRIBUTIONS 1. Serial Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Cerion Energy, Cerion NRx, Cerion Enterprises (now Cerion Advanced Materials) 2. Sixty plus patents and patent applications including- a novel diesel combustion catalyst optimized for size, dopant, chemical vehicle that is proven to provide emissions reductions and fuel economy (i.e. increase in P x dV work)- lattice engineered nano colloids with independent control of redox thermodynamics and kinetics- an inorganic central nervous system drug which ameliorates clinical symptoms (mouse model) of ALS and MS- a nanoscale ionic material (NIMS) with enhanced: lubricity, temperature independent viscosity and non-shear thinning properties.
