Background
About Kenneth Sparks
Kenne now serves as Office Manager and Coordinator for Youth and Collegiate Ministries for the Central Florida Presbytery. He is currently supporting Youth Workers in the Central Florida Presbytery and adding his experiences in Project Mamagement and Event Management to his role. Kenne served on the U.S. Army SETA and SETA II contract for the Program Executive Office for Simulation Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) supporting the International Programs Office as a Project Coordinator - Subject Matter Expert from 2011-2022. My primary focuses over the last 10 years at PEO STRI has been in Project Management as it relates to cost, schedule and performance. Writing of international agreements represent contracts ranging from $50Kto $10M+ totaling approximately $200 million annually. I also directly support the Director, International Programs at PEO STRI in an operations focus, assisting with reporting, presentations, policy tracking and manpower studies. Early in my career, I attended Baltimore International Culinary College. After two years of study there, I spent eight years working as a chef. Beginning in fine dining restaurants and then casual theme. I became a corporate trainer traveling in the Southeastern United States on the Restaurant Training/Opening Team. Later, I became a Kitchen Manager in a “Training Restaurant” where I assisted in managing day to day operations and trained managers before being placed in their restaurant of assignment. Additional front of the house duties included: keying orders, running hourly Point of Sale reports and maintaining staffing levels. In 1998 I obtained a BA in Mass Comm from the University of South Florida. The next five years I worked as a Production Manage in media productio. I worked with clients on video production, Electronic News Gathering (ENG), post production projects, duplication and managed a rental fleet of equipment. In 2007 I returned to the USF as an Instructional Multimedia Designer for a distance learning facility. Here I was responsible for hiring, training, staffing, scheduling and budget over-site of studio staff, webcasting and the Presidential Live Events Team. With a strong work ethic, I believe honest communications, continual process improvement and the trust in teammates sets the path for tomorrow’s success.
