As a Violence Recovery Specialist at UChicago Medicine, I provide immediate, trauma-informed support to patients and families impacted by intentional violence. My work bridges acute medical care with long-term healing through psychosocial first aid, safety planning, crisis intervention, and outpatient case management. With over 4.5 years of experience, I specialize in reducing the risk of re-injury by connecting survivors to comprehensive recovery services and community-based resources.Beyond bedside intervention, I design and facilitate youth engagement initiatives that extend the reach of hospital-based violence recovery into prevention. Through partnerships with Chicago’s collegiate and professional sports teams, I help coordinate game-based youth programming that integrates emergency response education, de-escalation training, and mental health support. These efforts include pregame panel discussions co-led by trauma clinicians, social workers, and community leaders—centered on resilience, leadership, and nonviolence.I also serve as a Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Consultant with US2 Consulting, where I lead equity-centered workshops and organizational audits for schools, corporations, and community institutions.
