I have over 15 years of experience working in occupational safety and health, workers’ compensation and employee development. I worked for the Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation as a Sr. Safety Inspector and team lead. Work involved planning, coordinating, and conducting compliance audits of insurance company safety and risk control programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Additionally, I performed consultations with select employers for compliance with required accident prevention plans and OSHA regulations, by conducting hazard assessments, safety program reviews, and making recommendations involving safe work practices and hazard abatement. In addition, I prepared detailed documentation, forms, reports, and correspondence to communicate findings and corrective actions to insurance company representatives, policyholders and Division management. My work was conducted under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and judgement. Previously, I was the Safety Program Coordinator for the City of Round Rock, where I managed safety, health, security and environmental programs and workers’ compensation claims. I maintained an experience modifier of less than.80 while employed with the city. My duties included working with employees and citizens while conducting incident investigations, managing security systems, medical evaluations, drug testing programs and employee training on applicable safety, health, security, and environmental programs. I am currently a certified training generalist through Langevin Learning Services, an OSHA authorized construction trainer, and I am lacking one class to be an OSHA authorized general industry trainer.
