About Kevin Harmon

I am a licensed geologist with over six years of professional experience in the field of engineering geology and related earth sciences. At Cotton, Shires and Associates, Inc.(CSA), I have supported a wide range of projects, including the collection, compilation, and analysis of geologic data, and the preparation of technical maps and reports. My experience also includes tasks such as topographic surveying, distress mapping, geologic mapping, floor level surveying, logging of exploratory boreholes and test pits, laboratory testing, earthwork observation and testing, and the installation and monitoring of inclinometers, extensometers, vibration monitors, and piezometers. I have worked on various geologic and geotechnical peer reviews for multiple communities in the San Francisco Bay Area and San Luis Obispo, including assessments of potential hazards for proposed land divisions and building permit applications. This work involves detailed mapping and analysis of sites to ensure proper identification and assessment of potential geotechnical risks. In addition to my field expertise, I am proficient with a variety of programs and coding languages, including AutoCAD, GIS, InSAR (Catalyst), SketchUp, Geopandas, Excel, Python, C, C++, and Java.
