I am a Photonics Characterisation Specialist at CORNERSTONE, Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton, working on the experimental evaluation of high-speed silicon photonic devices - including modulators, photodetectors and optical links - at both chip and wafer levels. I operate industry-standard tools such as the Keysight Lightwave Component Analyser (LCA), Digital Communication Analyser (DCA), SHF Bit Pattern Generators, RF probes, and tunable lasers. Hands-on experience includes:> EO, OE, and OO measurements at 1310 nm and 1550 nm > High-speed optical and electrical signal analysis > Passive and active silicon photonic device characterisation > Wafer-level and fibre-coupled photonic testing I'm also developing skills in PIC design and simulation using Lumerical (Ansys), IPKISS (Luceda), and KLayout, along with Python-based automation for lab instrumentation and data analysis. This role builds on my PhD and postdoctoral R&D experience in experimental science. I'm focused on growing into a well-rounded photonics engineer with strengths in- Silicon Photonics - High-Speed Device Characterisation - PIC Design & Simulation - Python Automation - Technical Communication & Collaboration
