About Khalil Atkinson

How high does the ladder go? Does it truly reach the stars? These are questions I ask myself all the time. I am a dreamer, a writer, a thinker and a doer. There are many constants within my life but the biggest one has always been change. Some like it, others hate it and I.well I have been on both sides of the fence when it comes to that. I've had my fair share of ups and downs, ins and outs, accomplishments and failures however, when I look back, all the lessons I've learnt have made me who I am today. I love to help others as I live by the mantra, what goes around comes around. Reading is a big joy and writing, well.it's been a savior to me for many nights on end. Appreciation for these finer aspects of life from a tender age is what got me to join debate and other voluntary based groups that push me outside of my comfort zone and challenges me to think bigger and to always do better. Through it all I've learnt to find my own voice and walk my own path in a world that constantly echoes to a tune of normalcy. And so I come to the point of this message: Being a leader means crafting a road that not many will take. You'll take the path that few dare to traverse in hopes of finding a destination that few will see in their lifetime. It means that you'll climb, push, stumble, fall and climb again. It means you'll grind at a pace few others can match. You'll teach, educate and learn from the very lessons you've created and mold any environment you step into based off mindset alone. After all, why settle for the sky, when you can reach the stars.
