About Kieran Lloyd

I started my working life straight out of school; I began working at Primark Wigan Part-Time whilst I was at my first experience at college (which was the course Electrical Engineering). I enjoyed the social aspect that this brought on and I flourished more in this new environment than I did in school. After I finished college, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do after not gaining the qualification I wanted to progress and continued working for Primark, still Part Time, taking overtime where I could and was generally getting by. After a couple years unsure of the direction I wanted to go, I decided to go back to college to gain a top-up qualification in IT which would then allow me to move on to university. I cracked down this year and gained the qualifications that I needed and more, I started at Manchester Metropolitan Uni. During this year, I generally stayed unemployed but I got a job toward the end of the year working at the Fab Café as front of house employee. I met lots of new people and was entrusted to look after the finances of the entry fee's, this was a nice experience after years of school to be given real life responsilbilities. Unfortunately after a year at university the learning style of sitting and listening no longer suited me as a person and I wanted to get out into the world of work. I started applying for apprenticeship positions and fortunately got a place on the ITV scheme. The experience was amazing, I gained and learned about skills I didn't know I had such as; organisational, personal, social and IT skills. It has confirmed that I enjoy the office work life over other types of work I have experienced. Over my short years working I have learnt that I am a committed employee and that I am good problem solver. I have also learnt that I am patient and willing to participate with exciting oppurtunies!
