About Kim Ruff

Air Force Veteran with more than 10 years of experience in proposal management. Finalist for APMP's Chapter Leader of the Year, recipient of the Charlie Divine APMP Certification Scholarship and APMP’s 40 Under 40 award, and selected to represent APMP at The Department of Homeland Security's Procurement Innovation Lab for Industry. I am the Senior Manager of Proposal Management at Mythics, LLC. My career prior to becoming a proposal manager includes honorable service in the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Weapons Technician. I also served a three-year term as the Creative Nonfiction and Fiction Editorial Assistant at Literary Mama, published numerous editorials and columns for the Wetumpka Herald, Alabama’s leading newspaper in Elmore County, and assisted with press releases for Philadelphia’s premiere science museum - The Franklin Institute. I was awarded an apprenticeship as a writing fellow at George Mason University (GMU) for research that focused on student writing and the revision process and graduated with a MFA in Creative Writing: Nonfiction. During my MFA program, I was a graduate instructor of English Composition and Literature in GMU's English Department. My personal essays have earned me two scholarships and publication in the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Cornerstone Magazine. While living in the Washington, D.C. area, I volunteered as the Assistant Festival Manager for one of the largest literary events in the region, Fall for the Book, and as a performance storyteller with Better Said than Done.
