About Kody Penner

Born into a mining family, I grew up entangled in the industry and spent my first few years of life at a mine house outside of Nelson, BC. Since then, I found my passion for identifying and progressing sustainable mining operations that benefit community, Indigenous groups, government, and shareholders. Mining delivers value in so many ways and I’m dedicated to bringing my diverse skill set to the industry. My greatest strength is building connections and communicating with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds. I’ve built a varied skill set working on multiple sides of the mining industry enabling me to make knowledgeable and informed decisions around corporate development and community relations. Working as Vice-Chair for the Tahltan Nation Development Corporation has provided me valuable insight on how indigenous business models operate and how to meaningfully engage with these corporations. Other attributes include: •Can speak both the financial language and the language of the communities where mining takes place. •Can draw direct linkages in terms of ESG as it applies to mining and Indigenous inclusion (Rights and Title) •Member of the Tahltan Nation
