About Ky Rivera

As an autistic, queer, and transgender clinician, I bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to my work, grounded in both personal and clinical experiences. Linguistic justice is central to social justice. Language acts as a medium to represent the world, positions people in their respective circumstances, and thus serves as an integral part of our social lives, defining it as a social practice. Dismissing the language of whole groups of people – and hence dismissing the people – is a harm in itself. It leads to further harm as most social goods – education, work, healthcare, welfare, etc. – are mediated by language. My expertise encompasses community outreach, research-based clinical approaches, trauma-informed practices, and inter-professional collaboration. These areas of knowledge have equipped me with a strong foundation and have led me to uphold high standards in patient and client care, which I am dedicated to making a professional priority in all my endeavors.
