About Kyle C.

I graduated from UC Davis in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I spent four years studying and developing my skills in computer programming in various university courses and gaining experience with various programming languages, particularly Python, C, Java, C++, and C#. Additionally, I have participated in many different projects that have challenged and developed my own rigor, including a prototype game development project. Furthermore, I have excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills that I have utilized in school as well as a number of student jobs I have taken over the years. After graduating from UC Davis, I applied all of my teamwork and programming abilities towards professional computer science work at the Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO). I worked for approximately five years with FICO as an Analytics Software Scientist, collaborating with team members as a both a main programmer and with a team of programmers to help generate, analyze, and audit various kinds of FICO data for a variety of software development/engineering projects. I helped write a number of programs for the maintenance and development of software applications using Java and Groovy, and I gained new experience with working in a UNIX environment and with writing Python scripts. My time with FICO allowed me to further develop my communication and teamwork skills and take on rigorous projects. This included a research request to process large sets of Buy-Now, Pay-Later credit records from various dates through our FICO score modules to analyze how they could potentially affect FICO scores, as well as a Python project that utilized external libraries such as Pandas, Pyspark, Excelwriter, and Datacompy to recreate FICO's Groovy data comparison tools in a Python setting. I am now currently undertaking a new role as an Information Technology Specialist I (Data Analyst/Enterprise Report Developer) with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, where I am applying my previous programming experience and familiarity towards new data science/analysis tasks, while also incorporating new skills I have developed with SQL and SQL databases.
