About Kyle Clausen Problem Solver

Kyle Clausen works with organizations to solve strategic problems, execute new opportunities, and successfully navigate transition and change. Throughout his career spanning more than 20 years, first as a musician, subsequently as an executive leader, he developed a love for tackling big, systemic problems and helping build strong, confident organizations. Capitalizing and expanding on this experience and passion, he launched his own consultancy as an Executive Problem Solver working with arts and culture organizations who are seeking change and forward momentum. His leadership posts have included non-profit, governmental, and university-based organizations: Managing Director of Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Deputy Director of the Marin Center (County of Marin), General Manager in the School of the Arts and Architecture at UCLA, Director of Marketing & Patron Services at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, and Executive Director of Boston Court Pasadena, a Southern California arts center that develops, produces, and presents music, theatre, and visual art where he led the organization through a period of significant transition, developed a new structure, increased both earned and contributed revenue, grew the organization’s audience by 20%, and brought the organization’s budget into balance. Kyle has served as a grants panelist for the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the LA Arts Recovery Fund at the California Community Foundation, and Arts Council Santa Cruz County.
