About Kyle Ferris

Once I realized I wasn’t going to make it as a billionaire racing driver I set my eyes on finding and leveraging unique and rewarding opportunities in both my professional and personal life around the world with a focus on learning, growing, challenging, and always asking “why”. It started in middle school where I learned a strong work ethic and the value of a dollar in a strawberry field working for $0.35 cents per box (I was eventually promoted to picking beans for a much more lucrative $0.50 cents per pound). Then in high school I learned to value time, working 12-20 hours per week through grades 10-12 and graduating with honours as Valedictorian. In university I learned the value of the scientific method and how to apply it to my personal finances, career, and eventually the business world. Looking at things differently saw me through my undergraduate degree, a couple part time jobs, and three peer-reviewed academic papers. Obtaining my master’s degree in Scotland I learned how to adapt a global perspective. I also learned about Bayesian thinking and further streamlining work to provide value for time in all facets of life. After successfully defending my thesis, I returned home to New Brunswick. Then moving to the business world I learned how to negotiate, drive performance, and simplify processes even further. I believe the keys to a successful organization in the 21st century is being bold, simplifying processes continuously, focusing on diversity (especially in thought and process) and being responsible on the global stage. Above all, I care about my responsibilities as a global citizen. Since 2011 I’ve been proud to support humanitarian causes in Belize and Ukraine. Between my studies and humanitarian work I’ve been blessed to see over a dozen countries across the Americas and Europe. In short, I believe in simplifying, streamlining, empowering, and fostering growth in academia, humanitarian causes, and in business to drive sustainable value.
