I wasn’t always into engineering, but after leaving the military, I found my purpose in renewable energy. Recognizing the need for sustainable solutions, I saw engineering as a way to tackle real-world challenges and make a tangible impact. The opportunity to design systems that seamlessly blend efficiency and innovation captured my imagination and set me on a path to transform curiosity into expertise. Transitioning from the military, I brought with me a foundation of discipline and problem-solving cultivated in high-pressure environments. This background, combined with a commitment to addressing the world’s energy challenges, led me to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at San Jose State University. Here, I’ve honed my skills in renewable energy systems and sustainable design, building the technical expertise needed to turn ambitious ideas into practical solutions. In the military, I led teams through complex projects requiring precision and adaptability. From implementing network systems aboard naval ships to managing large-scale reconstruction efforts, I developed leadership skills that set the stage for my success. At the Naval Postgraduate School and Northrop Grumman, I used these skills to optimize turbine systems and support innovative testing processes. As I approach graduation, I’m focused on finding opportunities in renewable energy where I can apply my engineering skills to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
