I am a passionate cancer research scientist with a PhD in Molecular and Clinical Medicine (Pathology) from the University of Edinburgh and recipient of a Scottish Overseas Research Student Award where I identified phosphorylated CHEK1 as a poor prognostic biomarker and mediator of platinum resistance in ovarian cancer. Postdoctoral research in the Rottapel laboratory focusses on the acquired dependency of SMG1 kinase in high-grade serous ovarian cancer where inhibition induces cell death and presents a unique set of neoantigens for tumour immune detection. Current interests are the development of cancer therapeutics and biomarker discovery using in vitro and in vivo cancer models.
