About Kyra B.

Recruitment is evolving faster than ever, driven by the rise of AI and the need for more human-centred hiring. With AI reshaping how we source, evaluate, and hire talent, we have the opportunity to scale fairness, reduce bias, and accelerate hiring if we apply it thoughtfully, keeping human values at the centre. My journey into tech wasn’t linear. I stumbled into recruitment while studying a double degree in Business and Creative Intelligence & Innovation, a program built for problem solvers and unconventional thinkers. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d fall in love with engineering talent: the people behind the code, the communities they build, and the products they power.Today, I’m a Senior Tech Recruiter specialising in the Python and JavaScript markets. I partner with founders, CTOs, and engineering leaders to scale high-performing teams from placing founding engineers in AI startups to helping enterprises secure specialists for mission-critical projects.Beyond recruitment, I stay close to the pulse of the AI ecosystem. I run GenAI Labs, a member community of engineers and product professionals exploring how generative AI is transforming the way we work. I also speak and collaborate across the Sydney tech scene at events like HerTechCircle, BeerOps, and Project F- sharing insights on how AI is reshaping hiring, skills, and the future of work. For me, it’s simple: great AI still needs great people.I’m passionate about bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and the human side of recruitment helping teams build high performing & diverse tech teams.
