About Lara Vosburgh
I'm a Middle Eastern American and after having gained life, academic, professional and community-work experience in these two areas of the world as well as acquiring first hand knowledge of Middle Eastern culture and Jewish culture in NYC alongside having fluency in Hebrew, English and Arabic. I have come to believe that the Arts, Cultural diplomacy and languages are means to create bridges of understanding between countries and within communities with cultural/religious/linguistic diversity. I'm very much interested in improving Black and Jewish relations and have developed an initiative to do so. The project consists of two main programs.'Educate the Future’ - a program devised for Black and Jewish elementary school students (Grades 4-6) in NYC; and 'Higher Education: Rising to the Occasion'- a collaborative venture through which predominantly Jewish colleges and Black colleges will connect. Summary of Qualifications: International Background, Active in the promotion of the arts, public, and cultural diplomacy, interfaith understanding, languages and Jewish-Arab bonding in Israel. Dramatic arts and comedy, film, television and documentary films in Israel and the U.S, Cross cultural communications experience fostered by firsthand knowledge and multilingual fluency in Hebrew and English and proficient in Arabic, including reading and writing. Translating, creating educational programs teaching and working with youth at risk and and people from different nationalities and faiths. Internships in Toronto, Berkeley, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. obs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Tel Aviv, Multiple area knowledge after travel and/or work in Turkey, Greece, India, Cyprus, UK, Germany, Holland, Poland, France, Switzerland, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Canada. I have taught at the following synagogues: Hebrew Tabernacle / Park East Synagogue / East End Temple / Village Temple/Central Synagogue/Kane Street Synagogue and more.
