About Laura Maffitt

My very first job at the age of 14 was at the Lake Tahoe Airport restaurant bussing tables. This began my passion for customer service and also helped to support my passion for owning my first horse at the age of 14. I became fascinated with the Montessori method of teaching. I taught Montessori pre-school for 10 years which taught me extreme patience and the love for learning. It also taught me that you can't live on a preschool teachers salary. So began my introduction in the hotel industry. I started out as Sales and Catering Coordinator and worked my way up to my latest role as Hotel Manager at a privately owned lakefront property. As a hospitality industry professional I bring a wealth of desired qualities to my next post. Such transferable skills include but are not limited to: management, team work, multitasking, thinking outside the box, research, brainstorming, accounting, organizing, operations, banquets, meetings, negotiator, concierge, customer service and much more. I am hardworking and thrive in an evolving and dynamic environment. PS - still riding horses every chance I get!
