About Laura Nally
I am a researcher focused on understanding and improving health outcomes for people living with type 1 diabetes. My current work examines how dietary factors influence glycemic control and explores the psychosocial and behavioral components that shape chronic illness management. I am particularly interested in developing and testing behavioral interventions to support adolescents in coping with and managing type 1 diabetes effectively. In addition, I study the broader systemic challenges faced by individuals with diabetes—especially the rising out-of-pocket costs for medications and devices—and aim to identify strategies that help patients navigate the healthcare system more successfully. Ultimately, my goal is to advance equitable, evidence-based approaches that empower people with type 1 diabetes to achieve better health and quality of life.
