About Lauren Gray

Lauren brings a law degree and 15 years of experience to help insulate brands and corporations from risk, effectively launch high-profile or high-risk marketing or business initiatives, and navigate complex reputational issues, such as societal issues engagement, litigation, or regulatory issues. At Edelman, Lauren leads U.S. issues work for Unilever, including brands such as Dove, Vaseline, Degree, Good Humor, and others. She also works with UNFPA, the United Nations agency focused on global sexual and reproductive healthcare and eliminating gender-based violence. ​ Lauren is part of Edelman leadership for its Out Front LGBTQ+ Task Force, Societal Issues Task Force, and SCOTUS Task Force: counseling clients across industries such as health, finance, CPG, retail, fashion, and tech on complex LGBTQ+ issues and other nuanced societal issues. For example, Lauren and her team counseled 100+ businesses on how to prepare for and respond to the overturn of Roe v. Wade. ​ Lauren has also worked on Edelman projects for clients such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Robin Hood Foundation, and TIME'S UP. Prior to Edelman, Lauren provided crisis communications support to the City of New York and Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She trained survivors of military sexual assault to share their stories with members of Congress and the media. And she led communications for the first lawsuit filed against former President Trump's now-repealed transgender military ban. AWARDS & RECOGNITION In 2023, Lauren was one of four Edelman employees honored in the New York City & State Political PR Power 50. In 2022, PR Week named Lauren to its Pride in PR list featuring 30 leading LGBTQ+ PR professionals nationally. Lauren was also honored by PR Week as a Champion of PR, one of 36 women in the US who represent the "gold standard in the industry." At Edelman, her contributions have helped lead to industry recognition, including a Cannes Gold Lion, PR Week Purpose Award, and others. Within her first year at Edelman, Lauren was selected to attend Edelman's Leadership Academy, a convening of 70 leaders from across Edelman's 60 global offices. That next year, Lauren was selected by Edelman Leadership, out of its nearly New York City office, for a culture award and travel grant for "putting others first, striving to make connections, and approaching work with a sense of joy and optimism." ​
