I have worked in the power industry for 12 years, I began my career with Innogy RWE nPower in the power sector with an advanced modern apprenticeship from which I qualified as a mechanical fitter. With these hands on skills I decided management would be my next step, I gained a position to train and become a steam turbine supervisor on site. I then joined Alstom now GE in 2012 as a lead supervisor for 4 years where I worked on numerous power plants in the UK mostly Nuclear. My career took a turn into renewables first in the manufacturing of offshore wind turbine blades at plant in Hull and now I’m involved directly with the installation of the projects themselves globally.
