I currently work as a Trading Analyst at Decimal Cricket where I use mathematics and data analysis skills to evaluate in-play cricket matches in order to set the correct prices and odds for in-play betting. As a match situation continuously changes so does the probability of every possible event, therefore I must be constantly re-evaluating and re-analysing the data to adjust the prices and odds so that I’m not creating value in any in-play market. This is a very fast paced and sometimes stressful environment, one that I have excelled in so far in my first year in the job, developing excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills. I studied Mathematics and Sport Science at Loughborough University where I became comfortable dealing with large data sets and analysing them to solve problems. Through my degree I had the opportunity to learn and use software such as Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, Maple and R Studio while completing statistical modelling modules.
