About Letisha Ramcharran

I bring a rich and diverse background in education, shaped by hands-on experience across various age groups and educational settings. My journey began with a two-year volunteer position in public schools, working with students from Grade R to Grade 7. This was followed by a role as a Grade 1 Educator during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, where I successfully balanced in-person and online teaching. My dedication led me to a government position as an Educational Assistant (EA), and soon after, I ventured into special needs education, teaching Grade 1 and Grade 3 autistic children. I've also gained valuable experience in early childhood development through my time working in crèches. At heritage academy, I focused on teaching Grade 1 and Grade 3 students, with a particular emphasis on Life Skills, Mathematics, Creative Arts, and Physical Education. My passion for education took me to Cape Town, where I currently hold a position at Rallim Preparatory School as a Grade 00 Educator. My teaching philosophy is rooted in humility and connecting with children on their level. I strive to find the best possible ways to support each child while fostering strong, lasting relationships. My experience spans various curricula, including CAPS, Day-by-Day, Montessori, and Reggio Emilia, allowing me to adapt my teaching approach to suit the needs of every learner.
